What are you unsatisfied about China's education system?

I don't think there is any education system that everyone is satisfied with. There are always restrictions in every society, like financial and human resources, cultural and social limits. But it doesn't mean we should refrain ourselves from giving critiques to this system.
Maybe we can ask in another way: what's your ideal education system like?

Here's a list of things I dislike about my education from primary school to high school:
1. lack of career orientation. Many students are unsure which major/career path to choose after College Entrance Exam.
2. Exam-oriented education. Exam might be unavoidable, but there so many trade-offs: mentality of competition, over-stress, ignorance of other aspects of learning, and the ability of critical thinking and creativity.
3. Corporal punishment. It's not that corporal punishment itself is bad, but the long-term psychological effects on students' mind is. If students start to fear authorities like teacher, he's likely to have difficulty in effective communication in workplace in the future.
4. Lack of emotional and sex education. It might be a taboo in society but schools have to take the first step to face it.
5. Some teachers' lack of professionalism. This exists in other jobs as well. But teachers should be required to be more professional because of the nature of their jobs.
6. Lack of co-curricular activities.
7. Political propaganda in Chinese, history and politics courses. Sometimes I really feel that our education is trying to make everyone the same kind of person, who has the same emotion, know the same thing, have the same opinions.
8. too much time in school.

But there are also quite a number of good points in our education as well:
1. compared to students in other countries, Chinese students have better results in maths, thanks to our exam-oriented education method.
2. We are more hardworking. It could be taken as a virtue if you like.
3. promotion of individualism in a group culture, thanks to the fierce competition of exams. (I am not sure if it's a convincing good point.)

I totally agree with you on these points.

Now we are just seeking for an optimal choice for young people who are passionate about their life, but not satisfied with the current education!

Where are all those resources from?
Books, websites, internet communities, older generation, peers, school teachers...

How to balance the life for which we can have the same voice from different aspects?
