竞争 . 梦想 . 激励

The majority of the population in the world are low-income people, around 4 billion. And the 2.86 billion people in Asian can provide total income of $3.47 trillion dollars, which is more than half of the total income of the whole world. But how can mainstream business, financial, and political leaders best come to grips with these emerging trends in value creation?

On the other hand, from conflict, terrorism; to poverty and hunger; to the global climate change issue, we really need a group of social and environmental entrepreneurs to innovate a way that we can live sustainably.

So what is the importance of social entrepreneurs?

Great idea.... Yes, I feel a lack of talents who are dedicated to social development in China. The politics really frustrates people's motivation in social work.
There are so many problems that government can solve themselves. Most students are simply indifferent of them.
Is there a stereotype that those adults and powerful organizations can really play a role in any social change?
I like this site! JIA YOU!

Hey Mingguo,

Good call! I rarely see any social entrepreneurs in China and everybody seems so desperate about the $$ and benefits for themselves. The government is one point that they creates an environment of authority, which can discourage people to contribute or mutually inspire each other within a community.

From my point of few, a social entrepreneur s a group of people who can dramatically change the traditional way or style of people's condition of life to create a more sustainable environment for everybody in the society. I am longing for this situation in China, but so far, no clue.

Thanks buddy! I appreciate your input on this site. So far I haven't published this site to people, cuz I feel like we still need more stuff that can grab people's attention on it. I am still struggling about the language, cuz this site if made in English and I believe a lot of people will avoid this even though they have interests in the topics...

What should I do about this?

Hi, Silu:
If we use Chinese, this site will definitely attract more readers. But there might be many similar sites who has advantages of their services and users.
Do you think this site should focus its user population on the Chinese students overseas or more generally on everyone?
Doing publicity on facebook or xiaonei might be the easiest and cheapest way. If people clicked this link, how can we attract them to stay longer and more important, let them speak what they think and come back the next day to see their comments.
I'm quite sure most students have some opinion on the 12 or 16 years' education system they have been through. Many people's attitude might be quite passive on this. They accept the fact as unchangeable and fair.
I think it's pretty hard to keep many students on the forum unless they can really find joy here everyday. There is a risk that it would become a site people come to complain about their miseries, which is not the purpose of it.
However, it is a really interesting topic, not only for students, but for teachers, every members of society as well. Many people have their preference what they want their children to be.

Are you majoring in marketing?

I'm interested what's your plan besides this site. If a forum or any kind of website could be a publicity success, the next step could be inviting famous people to write article about it. If it can attract mass media's attention, it would be really a big success and brings more members. Then maybe there could be events for this social entrepreneurship.... I don't know, maybe I'm just daydreaming.

Hi Mingguo,

You are absolutely right! These are all my plans. Now what I am doing is to set up a basic platform and try to put my vision into reality, including those topics and spiritual stuff. And then I just invite some of my friends come in and see it, and ask their feeling and suggestions. I really want to make this unique and I know it is long term and challenging as well. I really like what you were saying in the last thread, in which you said that how to grab people's attention was very important and actually this is my concern as well. I was thinking about this today and trying to figure out different ways not only to attract more people but also let them come back everyday. The email is a good way, cuz I can send out email to every member of this platform, so use the newsletter to let people know what's going on here periodically. And another thing that I am thinking about is to make it into a theme, or have a very obvious purpose on this thing, rather than grab everything that people are interested...like other sites did. I really need to use some certain terminology and stories to let people know what this site FOR and what they can BENEFIT from it. I am gathering information as well as suggestions from you guys right now, and after I am done with the first step, when I feel it is good enough, I will open to more people and even ask famous people to join in or distribute the word of mouth. I am confident. I will have my final in two weeks, after that, I will be devoted to this project!

Thanks again for your input on this, and let's keep in touch!
